The truth doesn’t always make the headlines
I saw the news. Then I remembered something I wish I hadn’t.
Before you read this, put your phone on Do Not Disturb 📵
Grab a drink (bonus points if it’s coconut water without the plastic straw)
Song of the day: “Ae Watan” – Sunidhi Chauhan version
It’s gentle, it’s patriotic, but not in-your-face.
Perfect for a long weekend that’s part celebration, part… contemplation.
Story Time ☕️
This week was a strange one right? I can’t be alone in feeling this way…
We had the flags going up, the laddoos being passed around, the long weekend energy in the air..
BUT..scroll, scroll 📱
News about fake voters. Thousands of them. With proofs.
Sadly, it’s real.
Suddenly, Independence Day felt more like a question instead of a celebration.(which our national heroes fought so HARD for!!!)
The question being:
If the foundation is cracked, how long before the whole thing shakes?
And because my brain works like a hundred tabs open, one thought led to another:
”What do we choose to remember… and what gets quietly erased?”
I thought about my own life.
On my birthday two weeks ago, like I told you in the last letter, I sat doing nothing. Just thinking about past birthdays.
You’d think I’d remember the laughter, the cake, the hugs first. Right?
Nope. My brain instead, decided to serve me awkward moments and bad memories.
The good stuff? It was there, but in the back row, raising its hand quietly like it wasn’t sure if it was invited.
And that’s when it clicked. Whether it’s our personal life or the life of our country, what stays in our memory isn’t always what’s most important. Sometimes it’s just what gets repeated, loudest.
In our lives, that might be the bad moments we replay.
For our country, it might be the narrative that gets told… while other truths are quietly archived.
So here’s my tiny rebellion this week:
I’m going to write down one thing each day that’s worth remembering about my life, about the world around me.
The important stuff, the good ones, the stuff that deserves to stay.
And NOT get blinded by the loudness of lies.
Video of the Week
Captured this beautiful view when my papa was giving his Independence day speech at his office 💙
Sunday Ritual 🪷
For the next 7 nights, write down one thing that’s worth remembering today.
Don’t find the “best” thing to write about.
Just put your pen on paper and let your hands do the talking.
And if you’re feeling bold, save one thing about your city or country too.
A sight, a kindness, a change.
And share it if you wish online and tag me 😌
